Padlock Setup Instructions
Step 1: Identify your David Lloyd padlock type
Most David Lloyd clubs use one of two models:
Shackle-turn model – you twist the metal loop to set the code
Reset-button model – you hold down a small reset button on the back or side
If you’re unsure which one you have, ask at reception before setting it.
Step 2: Setting your code (Shackle-Turn Model)
Start with all dials set to 0-0-0-0
Pull the shackle (metal loop) up
Turn it 90° to the left (counterclockwise)
Push down until you feel it click
While pressing down, set your new 4-digit code using the dials.
Turn the shackle back to its original position and release.
Test it! Lock and unlock 3 times to be sure

Step 3: Setting your code (Reset-Button Model)
Set all dials to 0-0-0-0 and open the lock.
Use a pen tip or similar to press and hold the reset button (on the back or side).
While holding the button, choose your new 4-digit combination.
Release the button to save your code.
Test your new combination several times.
Step 4: Test and Record Your Code
Turn the dials away, then re-enter your code to confirm it works.
Save it in your phone notes or text it to yourself.
Avoid obvious numbers like 1234 or your birth year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still unsure? Here are some quick answers that other new gym members often ask.
Q: Does every David Lloyd club use the same padlock?
A: Most do, but some use a reset-button model instead of the twist-shackle type. If you’re unsure, reception can confirm.
Q: Can I use my own padlock?
A: Yes — any 4-digit combination padlock that fits the locker loop securely will work.
Q: Where can I buy one?
A: David Lloyd padlocks are sold at reception or in the pro shop, depending on your club.
Q: What if I forget my combination?
A: Unfortunately, if it’s locked and you don’t know the code, it can’t be reset. You’ll likely need a new padlock.
Q: How long does it take to set one?
A: Usually around two to three minutes once you know your padlock type.
